About the place
At the end of a road that winds its way into the trees, Les2Châteaux Windstein watches over a village in northern Alsace, where the Vosges mountains become a deep forest. The house takes its name from two medieval castles - the Old and the New Windstein - whose sandstone ruins stand guard above the treetops.
Here, we are in the heart of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park, classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and included in the Natura 2000 network. An old Vosges forest, a rare silence, a light that changes by the hour. Nature is not a backdrop: it is the place.
